Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers has indicated that he has no plans to leave the Scottish club during the January transfer window despite interest from clubs in Italy and Spain.

The Nigeria international began the season as Philippe Clement’s first-choice striker but has since found his starting opportunities reduced following the emergence of Hamza Igamane.

Cagliari and Empoli have reportedly shown interest in the forward, while Spanish side Leganes are also believed to be monitoring his situation.

Softfootball understands that Dessers had previously suggested he would hold talks with Rangers officials about his future, but the 30-year-old has now revealed that no such discussions have taken place.

The striker insists his focus remains on football and contributing to the team whenever he gets the opportunity. Dessers was quoted by the Daily Record.

I don’t mind that. I try to focus on the football and the things that are happening on the pitch.

He added that he still has unfinished business at Rangers and remains determined to fight for his place in the team.

Dessers has scored 18 goals across all competitions for Rangers this season.
