Manchester City have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The 19-year-old centre-back will remain at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2029, with the Premier League champions adding another promising young talent to their squad.
Reis made his senior debut for Palmeiras in June 2024 and quickly established himself as an important member of the team. Softfootball understands that the defender featured 22 times for his boyhood club, including 18 appearances in the Brazilian Serie A and two in the Copa Libertadores.
His performances also earned him recognition after he was named in the Trofeu Mesa Redonda Team of the Year for Brazilian football in 2024.
Reis is expected to join Pep Guardiola’s squad for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign as he begins the next stage of his development.
The teenager expressed his excitement about joining City and working under Guardiola, while also highlighting the presence of fellow Brazilians Ederson and Savinho as a boost to his adaptation.
City also confirmed the signing of Uzbekistan defender Abdukodir Khusanov from RC Lens on Monday.
