Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo is confident Ola Aina will sign a new contract and extend his stay at the City Ground, despite growing speculation over the Nigeria international’s future.

Aina joined Forest as a free agent in the summer of 2023 after leaving Torino and quickly established himself as one of the club’s most dependable performers. The Tricky Trees activated the one-year extension in his contract last summer, but discussions over a longer-term agreement are ongoing.

The Super Eagles defender has been a key figure in Forest’s strong season, contributing two goals in 19 Premier League appearances while impressing with his consistency at both right-back and left-back.

Speaking ahead of Forest’s next league fixture, Santo expressed optimism that both Aina and expe;rienced striker Chris Wood would remain at the club. The Portuguese manager said:

I think so. I think things are going well and the players are working very good.

Softfootball reports Forest are eager to secure Aina’s future as they continue their push for a strong finish this season, with the defender regarded as an important part of Santo’s long-term plans.
