Ola Aina has earned widespread praise following his impressive display in Nottingham Forest’s 2-0 victory over Brentford, with the Nigerian defender receiving one of the highest player ratings of the match.
The Super Eagles star opened the scoring in the first half with a composed finish before Anthony Elanga sealed the victory after the break, helping Forest continue their remarkable Premier League campaign.
Softfootball reports Sky Sports awarded Aina an impressive eight out of ten for his influential performance at both ends of the pitch.
Despite the convincing win, Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo refused to get carried away, insisting his side must remain focused on improving rather than their current league position. He said:
We had to change our approach and the boys did well. It was about holding the result. Brentford caused us problems in the second half but we dealt with it, which shows the character and resilience in the team.
The Portuguese coach also urged his players to stay grounded.
It’s not about the table. It’s about improving, realizing that there is still a long way to go and that we’ve achieved nothing yet,
he added.
