Egyptian football icon Mohamed Aboutrika has expressed confidence that Mohamed Salah will extend his stay at Liverpool, insisting the club would struggle badly without their star forward.
Salah’s current contract is set to expire in June, though a fresh offer is understood to be on the table as talks between both parties continue. Softfootball has learned that Aboutrika shared his belief in an interview with beIN Sport, pointing to Salah’s performances as the strongest argument for a renewal.

Speaking about Salah’s future, Aboutrika remarked:
Regardless of what was said about the contract, he speaks with his feet. I always prefer that football players speak with their feet rather than their tongues. Let others speak for you.
The Egyptian legend also highlighted Salah’s importance to Liverpool’s title challenge, saying:
Salah’s 13 Premier League goals brought Liverpool 11 points this season, and without him, I think Liverpool would not have been at the top.
Liverpool remain hopeful of reaching an agreement with Salah as contract negotiations continue, with the forward once again proving indispensable in their pursuit of major honours this season.
