Pep Guardiola has ruled out walking away from Manchester City under any circumstances — even relegation.
With the club’s 115-charge hearing outcome looming next year, speculation has swirled over what a worst-case verdict might mean for Guardiola’s future.
Softfootball gathered that he addressed the question head-on ahead of facing Tottenham:
I said that six months ago, if we get relegated, I will be here and the next year, we’re going to come up to the Premier League. I knew it then, I feel it now.
He didn’t shy away from the pressure building around his squad either, admitting:
We have some incredible, legendary players here but you have to perform.
If you don’t perform, our owner, chairman and fans will say ‘What’s going on?
We have to change.’ Everyone is under pressure, with me the first.
Whatever the hearing decides, Guardiola’s message was unambiguous: he isn’t going anywhere.
