Napoli have officially announced the appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as the club’s new first-team head coach after the experienced Italian manager successfully terminated his contract with AC Milan by mutual consent, Softfootball reports.
The move had been widely anticipated in recent weeks and was confirmed by the Serie A club in an official statement on Friday morning.
“SSC Napoli would like to welcome Massimiliano Allegri as our new first team head coach. Allegri has signed a contract with the club until 30 June 2029.
Napoli announced.
Allegri arrives in Naples following the end of his association with Milan, more than a month after his dismissal, and now begins a new chapter with one of Italy’s biggest clubs.

The appointment follows the departure of Antonio Conte, who confirmed in May 2026 that he would leave Napoli at the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign. Although Conte guided the club to a top-three finish in Serie A and secured UEFA Champions League qualification, both parties ultimately agreed it was the right time to part ways.
With a contract running until June 2029, Allegri will now begin preparations for the 2026/27 season as Napoli look to strengthen their squad and mount another serious challenge for the Serie A title and European success.
