Kano Pillars have rewarded their players by clearing five outstanding match bonuses following the club’s dramatic 4-3 victory over Rangers International in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Softfootball reports.

The thrilling away win in Enugu not only boosted the team’s morale but also prompted the club’s management to fulfill their financial commitment to the players. Softfootball noted that the outstanding bonuses were paid on Tuesday, October 22, shortly after the team returned from the successful trip.

A club official confirmed that the players had not received any match bonuses since the start of the season, but the situation has now been resolved.

According to the official, the payment covered bonuses from the club’s first five matches of the campaign, bringing relief and excitement to the squad.

Kano Pillars have recorded three wins, two draws and three defeats this season to occupy sixth place on the NPFL table with 11 points. Their victories include two home wins and the impressive away triumph over defending champions Rangers.

Players reportedly receive ₦20,000 for every home victory and ₦50,000 for each away win.

The Sai Masu Gida side have adopted the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina as their temporary home ground and will host Nasarawa United there on Sunday in a Matchday Nine encounter.

Club spokesman Abubakar Issah revealed that the players will travel to Katsina on Friday, while club officials are expected to join them on Saturday ahead of the fixture.

Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa is also expected to make his fifth appearance since returning to his boyhood club this season if head coach Usman Abdallah includes him in the squad for Sunday’s clash.
