Super Eagles winger Nathan Tella has admitted his frustration over the lack of regular playing time at Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
Softfootball moves that the Nigerian international remains determined to fight for his place in Xabi Alonso’s squad despite finding opportunities hard to come by since joining the German club from Southampton last summer.

Tella has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter and has often been deployed in unfamiliar positions by manager Xabi Alonso. Last season, the 25-year-old made 24 Bundesliga appearances, with most of those coming from the bench.
The former Burnley winger has featured in only three league matches this season but remains hopeful that his patience and performances in training will eventually earn him more minutes.
Tella revealed that he has discussed the situation with Alonso, who encouraged him to remain patient and assured him that opportunities will come. The winger believes he has performed well whenever called upon and continues to impress in training.
While disappointed with his limited role, Tella acknowledged that team selection ultimately rests with the coach and expressed his determination to seize every opportunity when it comes.
