England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has said he is not in a position to decide whether Lee Carsley should be given the Three Lions managerial job on a permanent basis.
Softfootball notes that Carsley is currently serving as England’s caretaker manager, but his chances of landing the role full-time came under more pressure after the Nations League defeat to Greece at Wembley.
Pickford, however, insisted that the players must focus on improving their performances rather than discussing the manager’s future.
The Everton goalkeeper admitted that losing at Wembley is never a good feeling for the players or the coaching staff, especially when representing England.

He explained that the squad always wants to win whenever they wear the national team shirt, but must now accept the disappointment, learn from it, and prepare properly for the next match.
Pickford also stressed that football is about constant improvement, adding that even when a team is winning, there are still lessons to take from every game.
According to him, England must recover well, analyse what went wrong, and make sure they produce a better performance in their next fixture.
Carsley’s temporary spell as England boss has attracted plenty of attention, especially as the Football Association continues to consider its long-term options after Gareth Southgate’s departure.
For Pickford, though, the immediate priority is helping England bounce back quickly and return to winning ways.
