Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski believes Wojciech Szczesny will adapt quickly to life at the club after joining the Spanish giants.
Softfootball reported that talks over a new deal between Robert Lewandowski and Barcelona are currently on stand-by, but the Polish striker remains focused on helping the team compete strongly this season.
Szczesny came out of retirement to join Barcelona as a replacement for Marc Andre ter Stegen, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
Lewandowski, who knows Szczesny well from the Poland national team, believes the former Juventus goalkeeper has the experience, calmness, and mentality needed to make an immediate impact at Barcelona.
Speaking with Marca, Lewandowski explained that Szczesny had previously told him he would only continue playing if Barcelona came calling. The opportunity eventually arrived, and the goalkeeper accepted the challenge.

Lewandowski also believes Szczesny’s short break from football may actually help him return refreshed. According to him, the goalkeeper should only need a few weeks of training to regain full fitness and sharpness.
The Barcelona forward added that every new player needs time to understand the club environment, but he expects Szczesny to settle faster because of his experience and positive attitude.
For Barcelona, Szczesny’s arrival comes at an important time as the team looks for stability in goal during Ter Stegen’s absence.
Lewandowski is confident his international teammate will bring quality, leadership, and composure to the squad as the season continues.
