Reports indicate Andreas Christensen is set to sign a new deal at Barcelona until June 2028, as an agreement with the Danish defender has been reached with conditions for him to stay at the club.
Softfootball understands that two clubs, including one in Italy and one in the Premier League have approached Christensen, but his priority remains Barcelona. The new contract will now be valid initially until June 2028, extending his stay by one more season than previously expected.
Since arriving on a free transfer from Chelsea on 4 July 2022, Christensen has become a key figure in Barcelona’s defensive structure. He has made nearly 100 appearances for the club, helping them secure a La Liga title, and recently agreed to an extension through June 2027 now set to be upgraded to 2028.
