Kevin De Bruyne has given a strong indication that he could stay one more year at Napoli, with his contract running until 2027, Softfootball gathered.
Speaking to Nieuwsblad, the former Manchester City midfielder reflected on Napoli’s 2025/26 season, describing it as a year where “a lot was said but not much happened,” calling the situation “a shame.” Despite this, he made it clear he still wants to enjoy playing football.
Here was De Bruyne’s statement:
I still have one year left on my contract, but I want to have a conversation with Napoli.
Last year, too, certain things were said: ‘We’ll play a certain way, we’ll do this and that,’ but not much of it actually happened, and that’s a shame. I want to enjoy when I play football.

With Massimiliano Allegri set to become the new Napoli manager following Antonio Conte’s departure at the end of the 2025/26 season, De Bruyne is open to being part of Allegri’s squad next season.
