Reports reaching Softfootball from media responses by Kylian Mbappé suggest that the forward stated he does not watch his manager Álvaro Arbeloa’s press conferences, explaining that he watches French television at home rather than Spanish TV.
There have also been growing rumors of tension between Mbappé and Arbeloa, particularly after the coach responded to Mbappé’s claim that he played more during the first half of the season than in the second half. Arbeloa reportedly replied by saying that Mbappé “surely scored more goals in the first half of the season than in the second half.”
Mbappé had also claimed that Arbeloa informed him he was the fourth-choice striker behind Vinícius Júnior, Gonzalo, and Franco Mastantuono. Reacting to those comments, Arbeloa denied ever making such a statement, adding that he wished he had four attackers of that quality available in his squad.
