Softfootball can confirm Hansi Flick has reportedly informed FC Barcelona management of his decision to sign a new contract with the club, according to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle.
Romano stated:
Hansi Flick already informed Barça management about his decision to sign a new contract at the club. Final point being discussed with his agent Pini Zahavi this week: new deal until June 2028 plus option, or June 2029.
The final details are now being discussed between Barcelona and Flick’s agent, Pini Zahavi, with negotiations focused on whether the new agreement will run until June 2028 with an additional option year, or directly until June 2029.

Romano had earlier confirmed that Zahavi arrived in Barcelona this week to finalize the extension, and reports now indicate that Flick has accepted the proposed terms.
Flick has enjoyed a hugely successful spell since replacing Xavi Hernandez in May 2024. The German coach guided Barcelona to a domestic treble in his debut season and is now on the verge of securing back-to-back La Liga titles.
Barcelona only need a point against arch-rivals Real Madrid on Sunday to officially be crowned champions, further underlining the remarkable progress made under Flick’s leadership.

The Catalan giants have already enjoyed success over Madrid this season, defeating them 3-2 in the Spanish Super Cup final back in January thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.
With Barcelona continuing to compete at the highest level domestically and in Europe, the expected contract extension signals the club’s long-term commitment to Flick and the project he has built since arriving at Camp Nou.
