Hansi Flick is set to sign a new two-year contract with FC Barcelona. As revealed by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account, the deal comes with an option that could extend his stay at the club until 2029.

Softfootball believes the agreement reflects Barcelona’s confidence in Flick’s leadership and long-term vision, especially following improvements in performance and competitiveness in La Liga. The extension had reportedly been in planning since the re-election of club president Joan Laporta.

Romano revealed:

Hansi Flick will sign new deal at Barcelona, plan confirmed since the president Laporta got re-elected. New deal will be valid for the next two years. Flick’s agent Pini Zahavi will arrive soon to sort details and potential +1 option until 2029, as @RogerTorello @mundodeportivo report.

Flick has also made it clear in previous statements that his full focus remains on Barcelona, dismissing any speculation linking him to Real Madrid. His commitment to the project has been a key factor in the club’s decision to move forward with a new deal.

Negotiations are expected to be finalized soon, with Flick’s agent Pini Zahavi playing a central role in completing the agreement, according to reports from Catalan media.

The news has been well received by Barcelona supporters, many of whom credit Flick for improving team structure, consistency, and overall competitiveness, particularly in the club’s rivalry with Real Madrid.

With the extension nearing completion, Barcelona appear focused on stability and continuity as they aim to build on recent progress and challenge for major honors in the coming seasons.
