Harry Maguire has praised Manchester United’s recent improvement following their 2-1 victory over Brentford FC on Monday April 27th 2026, Softfootball reports.
Speaking via Fabrizio Romano on his x handle, Maguire reflected on the team’s progress, contrasting current performances with an earlier period under Rúben Amorim:

Harry Maguire: When Ruben Amorim was here, the games were 50/50… but we always ended up on the back of a defeat. Now it seems like it’s the other way around, where we’re a lot better in both boxes. We defend our box a lot better, and we’re managing to be clinical in the other box.
United showed that improvement on Monday, taking control early through Casemiro before Benjamin Šeško added a second. Brentford responded late via Mathias Jensen, but United held on for all three points.
Maguire highlighted key changes in both boxes, noting improved defensive solidity and greater clinical edge in attack as decisive factors.

The defender’s comments come shortly after he served a suspension handed by The Football Association following his red card against AFC Bournemouth earlier this month.
With momentum building, United appear to be finding consistency at a crucial stage of the season.
