Chelsea FC have officially parted ways with head coach Liam Rosenior, ending his short spell in charge after just four months.
While Rosenior recorded 11 wins in 23 matches, the numbers behind those results tell a more troubling story. Chelsea lost 10 of those games nearly half showing a lack of stability throughout his tenure. The Blues also conceded 38 goals, an alarmingly high figure that exposed serious defensive weaknesses.
Softfootball gathered that what was Even more concerning was the team’s collapse in attack toward the end. Chelsea failed to score in their last five matches, losing all five a run that highlighted a complete breakdown in confidence, creativity, and finishing.

Their 47 goals scored overall were heavily front-loaded earlier in his tenure, masking deeper issues that became more visible as the season progressed. Once results dipped, there was no recovery.
The final blow came after a heavy 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday 21st April 2026, a result that extended their losing streak in the Premier League and saw them slip further down the table.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, Chelsea had inserted a break clause in Rosenior’s contract, allowing them to terminate his deal without paying the full remaining salary a move that made the decision financially easier.
Reports also suggest that some players had begun to lose faith in the manager, making a change increasingly inevitable despite earlier backing from the club hierarchy.
Romano posted:
Chelsea had included a break clause into Liam Rosenior contract and will not pay out full salary for next years, fee to be lower. Some players lost faith in the manager; change was seen as inevitable, results always come first despite support.

In the end, Chelsea’s stance remained clear: results come first. The focus now shifts to finding a new manager capable of restoring stability and direction at Stamford Bridge.
