Ademola Lookman has reached a major milestone in European football, climbing to third place on Nigeria’s all-time UEFA Champions League scorers list after netting his eighth goal in the competition, Softfootball reports.
The forward found the back of the net during Atlético Madrid’s 2-1 defeat to FC Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano. Despite the loss, Atlético progressed to the semi-finals with a 3-2 aggregate victory.
According to a post made on the Super eagles Official X account, Lookman’s latest strike sees him move ahead of several Nigerian greats, reinforcing his growing influence on the European stage.

They posted:
Lookman climbs to 3rd in the all time Nigerian UCL top scorers list 👑🦅
He now trails only Victor Osimhen, who leads with 16 goals, and Obafemi Martins with nine. Former stars Victor Ikpeba and Nwankwo Kanu complete the top five.
Lookman’s rise comes after his €40 million move to Atlético in February 2026, following an outstanding spell at Atalanta BC, where he delivered 37 goals and 15 assists across two seasons.

His latest achievement further cements his status as one of Nigeria’s most impactful forwards in Europe.
