West Ham United and Everton shared the spoils after playing out a goalless draw in Saturday’s Premier League encounter at the London Stadium.

Softfootball understands that the result piles further pressure on West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui, whose side struggled to produce a convincing performance despite creating the better chances late in the contest.

The Hammers came closest to snatching all three points in stoppage time when substitute Danny Ings saw his deflected effort brilliantly tipped away by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Pickford had earlier been fortunate after Crysencio Summerville struck the post in the second half, while Everton also threatened through Jesper Lindstrom, whose header was well saved by Lukasz Fabianski.

Despite both sides creating opportunities, neither team could find the breakthrough in a match that lacked attacking quality for long periods.

The draw leaves West Ham in 14th place in the Premier League standings heading into the international break, while Everton remain just two places below them after earning another valuable point on the road.
