Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has reflected on his side’s recent European and domestic performances ahead of their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest as reported by THYNK REACT via their youtube channel, stressing the importance of consistency, mentality, and focus as the season enters its decisive stage.

Emery admitted that the return to action after a three-week break was crucial for his team, especially after their strong European outing.

It was very important our comeback competing like we did yesterday. Of course the victory was fantastic, how we achieved it. We will want to analyse and correct some things we didn’t do as planned, especially in the first half, but the result is positive and the way we competed was excellent,

he said.

He further highlighted Villa’s growing maturity in Europe, pointing out how difficult away fixtures have become, but praising his squad’s discipline.

In Europe away from home is always tough. This year we are very serious and disciplined in Europe. Even when we suffered moments, the players responded fantastically. The reaction after conceding and how we finished the match gives us confidence,

he added.

Looking ahead, Emery stressed the need to shift focus immediately back to the Premier League, especially with Nottingham Forest awaiting.

Now we must focus 100% on the Premier League. Forest will be a huge challenge. Every match in this league is very difficult. We lost against Wolves before, so we know we must be fully concentrated for 90 minutes,

he warned.

He also praised individual players like Ollie Watkins and Youri Tielemans, highlighting their consistency and leadership.

When Watkins is consistent, he helps the team a lot. Tielemans is intelligent, a leader, and gives confidence to the team. When he plays, you can see his influence immediately,

Emery noted.
