The development was confirmed following updates shared via the official X handle of the English Premier League.

Pereira replaces Sean Dyche, who lasted just 114 days in charge after a 0–0 draw with Wolves proved to be his final game. Dyche had followed Nuno Espírito Santo and Ange Postecoglou, both of whom were also relieved of their duties earlier in the campaign.

Former Wolves boss Pereira now walks into a tense situation, with Forest sitting just three points above the relegation zone. Questions continue to surround the club’s revolving-door approach to management, with critics suggesting the instability could cost them their Premier League status.

Pereira previously worked under Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis at Olympiakos, winning a league and cup double in 2015.

He also kept Wolves in the top flight after taking over in December 2024 but was dismissed following a poor start to the current season. Wolves have been contacted as part of the necessary protocol.

This appointment marks the 14th club of Pereira’s managerial career, and notably, he has only stayed longer than two years at one. Forest are clearly banking on a short-term spark rather than long-term stability as they battle to avoid relegation.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, James Trafford has admitted he did not expect to be playing back-up at Manchester City this season, following the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma.
