Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has expressed his disappointment over Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking with Romeo on Twitch, Softfootball gathered that Osimhen admitted missing out on football’s biggest stage for the second consecutive time has been painful for both him and his teammates.

This was his statement:

I feel bad not playing the World Cup. This is the second time in a row. I was talking with the other guys and they feel the same way, but we move.

The Nigerian forward stressed that the disappointment is shared throughout the squad, but insisted the team must remain focused and continue working towards future success despite the setback.

Nigeria failed to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, extending the Super Eagles’ absence after also missing out on the 2022 edition.
