Manchester United are considering a bold offer to secure Victor Osimhen’s signature, according to reports from Italy. Softfootball gathered that the Red Devils are unwilling to meet the Nigerian’s €75m release clause outright. Instead, they are preparing a package worth €40m plus striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray, where he has been in prolific form. The 26-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided four assists in 19 Turkish Super Lig appearances. He has also contributed six goals in seven Europa League games, bringing his season total to 20 goals and five assists across all competitions.
Hojlund, by contrast, has had a difficult 2024-25 campaign. The Danish forward has managed just seven goals and one assist in 32 appearances for United. The proposed swap would allow United to refresh their attacking line while offering Napoli a young striker with Premier League experience.
Reports suggest Osimhen refused a move in January, preferring to stay in Turkey for the remainder of his loan. However, with his return to Napoli imminent, United hope this creative offer might tempt the Serie A giants. The deal would represent a significant shift in strategy for Erik ten Hag’s side as they look to bolster their firepower for next season.
