Nigerian forward Christantus Uche continued his impressive run of form by providing another assist as Getafe defeated lower division side Pontevedra 1-0 to book their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals. It was the youngster’s second consecutive game with an assist after also setting up a goal in Getafe’s recent La Liga victory over Las Palmas.
Uche made the difference just two minutes into the contest when he picked out Alvaro Rodriguez, who calmly scored the only goal of the match.
Softfootball reports the early strike proved enough to send Getafe through despite the visitors finishing the game with nine men after Rodriguez and Diego Rico were both sent off.

Rodriguez’s night took a dramatic turn after his opener as he received a straight red card before halftime, while Rico was dismissed deep into stoppage time after picking up a second yellow card.
Despite the setbacks, Getafe held firm to protect their narrow advantage until the final whistle.
The Copa del Rey quarter-final draw is scheduled for January 20, with the next round of matches set to take place between February 4 and 6.
