Trossard Faces Uncertain Future at Arsenal Amid Dortmund Interest

Borussia Dortmund are monitoring Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard as they search for a replacement following Jamie Gittens’ transfer to Chelsea. Softfootball understands that the German club are said to have added Trossard to their shortlist as they prepare to bolster their attack ahead of the new season.

Trossard, 30, joined Arsenal from Brighton in January 2023 and has since played a key supporting role under Mikel Arteta. While he remains under contract until 2027, reports suggest that recent contract extension talks have stalled.

Arsenal’s initial offer reportedly did not include a pay increase, which has led to some friction between the player and the club. Adding to the speculation is the winger’s decision to change representation, now working with German agent Dirk Hebel.

Leandro Trossard is believed to be open to a move this summer, especially with Arsenal pushing for new attacking signings. They have already signed Noni Madueke and are now being linked with Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

Transfer expert Florian Plettenberg confirmed via his official X handle that Leandro Trossard has received two solid offers from Premier League clubs, with a summer move still possible. Borussia Dortmund are now strongly considering a move for the Belgian, while Bayern Munich initially showed interest.

Plettenberg tweeted:

“Borussia Dortmund are monitoring Leandro #Trossard.

“The 30 y/o winger also has two concrete offers from Premier League clubs. A move in this window is possible. #BVB

Dortmund are not the only club interested. Turkish giants Fenerbahce had previously made an approach, while Bayern Munich have also shown interest. Clubs from Saudi Arabia and Italy are keeping tabs on the situation too.

While Trossard has provided valuable depth at Arsenal, the Gunners may be willing to cash in as they reshape their front line. With Dortmund set to play friendlies against Siegen and Juventus before kicking off their season in the DFB Pokal, they could be looking to wrap up a deal quickly.

Trossard’s next move remains uncertain, but with suitors lining up, his time at Arsenal may soon come to an end.
