Chalobah reflected on a game that started well for Chelsea with a first-half goal from João Pedro but slipped away in the second half, with goals from Scamacca and De Ketelaere winning the game for Atalanta.

After the game, he was asked by an interviewer how he felt, and he responded honestly.

He said:

Yeah, obviously we’re down, it’s disappointing. That’s three points lost. I think we were in control in the first half. They didn’t really create anything and didn’t really cause us problems. You know, when you’re 1-0 going into the second half, the first ten or fifteen minutes are so important we do not lose any duels. that we stay in the game and give ourselves the best opportunity.

Chalobah highlighted the importance of the opening minutes after the break while leading, stating how important it is to maintain the lead during that period.

He also stated that once Atalanta found the net, Chelsea struggled to get back in the game.

He said:

With the goal they scored, they put us on the back foot, you could see. And yeah, in the second half we didn’t really get going, we didn’t really have control, I’d say.

Chalobah, who last scored for Chelsea in the club’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal, admitted Chelsea started brightly, yet one moment changed everything, letting Atalanta dominate.

Looking ahead, the Blues must bounce back in the remaining UCL fixtures. Chalobah’s reflections show a team aware of its errors but also motivated to regroup, learn, and fight for the rest of the game in the group stage.
