Tottenham Hotspur have opened negotiations with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho, after a big loss in their squad of late. The 21-year-old player is reportedly open to a move if the clubs can agree on a transfer fee.
Softfootball had reported that Spurs have already spent a significant amount on attacking players to back new head coach Thomas Frank with the signing of Mohamed Kudus and keeping Mathys Tel on a permanent basis.

Savinho joined Manchester City from Troyes in July 2024 for around €40m. He spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Girona, where he impressed with 9 goals and 10 assists in 41 appearances.
Since joining City, he has contributed 3 goals and 11 assists in 48 appearances, showcasing his dribbling and playmaking skills.
Tottenham’s interest in Savinho comes after the departure of Son Heung-min to LAFC and a long-term injury to James Maddison. Spurs manager Thomas Frank has identified Savinho as an ideal player to strengthen the team’s attacking options.
While Manchester City are not actively looking to sell, Tottenham are keen to secure the winger’s services. The outcome of the ongoing talks could shape Spurs’s attacking lineup for the upcoming season.
According to Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, Spurs have now made a move for Savinho and have opened a line of communication, informing Manchester City of their interest and negotiations ongoing between the two clubs. Frank is said to be pushing for the move, and the player is understood to be open to the deal should the clubs reach an agreement.
His tweet reads:
“EXCL: Tottenham open club to club talks to sign Savinho from Man City!
Negotiations ongoing between Spurs and City, also understand Savinho’s open to the move if the clubs can agree on fee.
THFC boss Thomas Frank indicated Savinho as ideal player.”
Savinho enjoyed an underrated campaign in terms of his creativity for City, managing more assists and chances created than Maddison. The 21-year-old is also capable of playing on either flank and as a number ten, with his versatility being an underrated trait.
However, there have been question marks as to whether Tottenham are actually in the market for another winger, with Frank a big fan of Wilson Odobert. It remains to be seen how much Manchester City will demand for the Brazilian winger.
