Tottenham legend Heung-min Son reaches verbal agreement with Los Angeles

Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Los Angeles FC has verbally agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur legend, Heung-min Son, Softfootball reports.

The South Korean Captain played his last game for the London club during the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United in Seoul on Sunday and was given a heartfelt reception when he left the pitch in the second half.

According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X account informed that Heung-min Son already an LAFC player.

He revealed:

“Heung-min Son to LAFC, here we go! Verbal agreement in place between all parties.

“Son, ready to complete his move to MLS with Spurs due to receive fee in excess of €15m.

“Son didn’t travel back to UK with Spurs squad as he’s waiting for documents to be signed with LAFC.”

Son is a firm fan favourite for Spurs fans from White Hart Lane to the new London stadium and will be missed as he is set to leave the club. His Son’s statistics are incredible for the club. He scored 173 goals for Spurs in all competitions which makes him the fifth highest for the club.

Son has 101 assists in 454 appearances with his 127 Premier League goals the joint 16th highest in the competition’s history.

Son holds Tottenham record for Premier League assists with 71. He became the first Asian player to win the competition’s Golden Boot, which he shared with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah with 23 goals during the 2021/22 season.

Harry Kane’s move to Bayern Munich in 2023, gave more responsibility to Son the following season and he delivered by scoring 17 goals and registered 10 assists in 35 league matches.

Son, three-time Tottenham Hotspur player of the year, failed to reach double figures for the first time in the premier league since his debut campaign.

In Son’s final season, Tottenham finished 17th in the premier league, one spot above the relegation zone but he led them to a Europa League win for the very first time ever.
