Pape Matar Sarr’s lobbing goal was the difference as Tottenham Hotspurs pipped Arsenal t1-0 in Hong Kong. The game was the first ever North London derby outside of Europe.
Softfootball watched as Sarr scored a goal that will be in the minds of many Hong Kong Spurs fans for years. The midfielder had reacted fast to a lose ball after Myles Lewis-Skelly was tripped in the middle of the park.
Sarr did not think as he lobed the ball over an out of position David Raya who could do nothing but accompany the ball to the back of the net.

Spurs hit the upright and the crossbar a few times but Sarr was the name registered on the score sheet as the match winner. Reacting to his goal while speaking to the club’s media, Sarr was over joyous about the goal.
He narrated the moment saying:
“Yeah, they lose the ball in the middle, I look up and the keeper was too far away. I tried it , took my chances and it landed in the net. Yeah it was a pleasing to see the ball in the net. The goal was amzing.
“I think I used to score something like that when I was Metz and in the national team. Hopefully I get more goals for the team of this type. I am happy we won the game.
“I scored the goal in front of Arsenal fans and I was wanted to do my celebration. Here’s the corrected version.”
On what it’s like working with their new gaffer, Thomas Frank, who joined from Brentford this summer, Pape said:
“I am happing with the gaffer. We are working hard to get back to the league in good form so it is really great working with him.
“We just want to be ready for the league and we will keep working. “
Before the win against Arsenal, Spurs had lost to National League side, Woking, 2-0 and drew 0-0 with League one side, Luton Town
