It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here. It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world,

he said.

As soon as I spoke to De Zerbi I knew I had to come.

Softfootball reported that Tottenham had maintained Savinho as a priority target throughout the summer, with the winger eager to work under the Italian coach.

The signing arrives at an important moment for Spurs. De Zerbi admitted after their 3-0 defeat to Brentford that his new-look side were not ready physically or collectively, stressing that they need time to become a team.

Savinho’s arrival is therefore expected to provide Spurs with additional creativity, pace and attacking quality as De Zerbi continues building his new Tottenham project.
