Super Eagles defender, Ryan Alebiosu is set to miss the rest of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) due to injury, Softfootball reports.
The Blackburn star made his Super Eagles competitive debut on Tuesday night as Nigeria defeated Uganda 3-1 in Morocco to top Group C with nine points and he was one of the outstanding players of the match.

According to a report via the Super Eagles official X handle, the player could be set to miss the tournament. The statement read:
Debutant Ryan Alebiosu sustained a deep cut on his right leg. Uncertainty surrounds his availability for the rest of the tournament.
Alebiosu, who was on the bench when Nigeria defeated Tunisia 3-2 began his career at Arsenal’s academy before moving through various loan spells and finally securing a permanent move to Blackburn in July 2025.

Alebiosu was picked at right back against Uganda as Osayi Samuel was rested after starting the first two matches of the competition and he should why he is rated as one of the best signings in the Championship in 2025 and made over 20 appearances for Blackburn with some tidy passing and good forward plays while defending very well.
Super Eagles manager, Eric Chelle will hope the injury won’t end Alebiosu’s tournament as he has shown to be a very useful defender with his debut for Nigeria on Tuesday night.
