BREAKING: Cristiano Ronaldo, back available for Al Nassr to face Al Fateh. He’ll be back on the pitch on Saturday after the break Cristiano took due to PIF management decisions/budgets and more issues. Cristiano will be ready to play tomorrow.

The Portuguese star had missed three straight matches two in the Saudi Pro League and one in the AFC Champions League Two after a brief, self-imposed absence.

Ronaldo’s time away wasn’t due to injury. Instead, it was linked to frustration with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) over internal club issues.

Reports say he was unhappy with Al Nassr’s limited activity in the winter transfer window, especially when rivals Al Hilal strengthened heavily.

There were also concerns about decision-making power within the club’s leadership and delays in payments to some staff members.

Despite missing their captain, Al Nassr still picked up important wins. The team beat Al Ittihad 2–0, with goals from Sadio Mané and Ângelo Gabriel, edged Al Riyadh 1–0, and secured a 1–0 first-leg win over Arkadag FC in the AFC Champions League Two. Those results kept momentum going while Ronaldo was out.

Off the pitch, Ronaldo recently received another individual honour, being named Best Middle East Player at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.

In his acceptance speech, he made it clear his motivation remains high, saying he still wants to win trophies and keep scoring as he chases the historic 1,000 career-goal mark. He currently sits on 961 career goals, with 17 league goals in 18 games this season.

With the dispute cooled and Ronaldo back in the squad, Softfootball has reported Al Nassr will be hoping their leader’s return gives them another push in the title race starting against Al Fateh this weekend.
