Napoli are back on the market searching for new striker due to serious high injury sustained by Romelu Lukaku, and the Belgium international will remain out of action for several weeks.
Lukaku suffered an injury during a 2-0 win over Olympiacos on August 14, and his condition is so concerning that Napoli director Manna has already targeted some attacking reinforcements.

The Belgian forward’s injury casts doubt on his availability for Napoli’s Serie A opener against Sassuolo on August 23 and potentially the next few weeks. This is a significant setback given Lukaku’s key role in Napoli’s title-winning campaign, where he scored 14 goals and 10 assists in 36 league appearances.
According to statement on Napoli official club website, tests showed Romelu Lukaku has a high-grade damage to the thigh muscle in his left leg, and the striker has already begun his rehabilitation program and will also undergo a surgical consultation.
With Lukaku suffering an injury, Napoli might face problems in their attacking third, and according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, Napoli are back on the market for new striker due to serious injury sustained by the the striker. His tweet reads:
“Napoli are back on the market for new striker as reported yesterday, due to serious injury for Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian striker suffered muscle injury and won’t be available for the next three months at least.”
No indication over how long Lukaku would be sidelined was given by Napoli, but Italian media reported that he could be out of action until November.
In an earlier post, Softfootball reported that Jadon Sancho’s future remains uncertain as the winger is not currently open to joining AS Roma despite Manchester United willingness to accept a £20 million bid from the Italian side.
