Rodrygo Confirms Summer Offers but Vows to Stay at Real Madrid

3 Min Read

Real Madrid forward Rodrygo has opened up about the transfer speculation surrounding him, admitting that he received multiple offers during the summer window but was always clear about his wish to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Brazilian winger has faced growing uncertainty over his role in Xabi Alonso’s squad, yet insists his commitment to Los Blancos has never wavered.

Softfootball earlier reported that Rodrygo was close to leaving the club last summer after Manchester City showed serious interest in his services. The move was being considered as a backup plan in case Savinho completed a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur. However, the deal eventually quieted down after Savinho decided to remain at Manchester City, effectively ending Rodrygo’s potential switch to the Cityzens.

According to top journalist Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, the brazilian winger opened up about his current situation at Real Madrid, his post reads;

Rodrygo: There are always offers… that was the case this summer, I’m not going to lie about that. But I always made it clear to the club that I want to stay. I told them that I wanted to continue succeeding at Real Madrid, even more than I already have, told Diario AS.

Softfootball understands that despite his loyalty, Rodrygo has struggled to get enough minutes at the club this season. Most recently, he came on as a late substitute in the 83rd minute during Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Villarreal at the weekend, a decision that has sparked widespread debate about his importance to the team and Ancelotti’s long-term plans.

In addition to Manchester City’s previous interest, Liverpool are also monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation closely, with rumours suggesting that the Reds could line up a move for him in the summer of 2026. For now, however, Rodrygo appears focused on fighting for his place and continuing to build his legacy in Madrid, despite the competition and uncertainty that surround him.

The Brazilian remains highly regarded within the Real Madrid hierarchy, who still view him as a key figure for the club’s future. With the team competing on multiple fronts this season, Rodrygo’s versatility and ability to win big games could come in handy as Madrid aim to re-establish their dominance in both Spain and Europe.
