Barcelona have confirmed that Marcus Rashford will miss this week’s game against Atlético Madrid after suffering pain in his left knee.
According to reports covered by Softfootball, the striker picked up the issue after taking a blow during Saturday’s match against Mallorca at Spotify Camp Nou. The update was confirmed in an official statement released via the X handle of Barcelona, stating that Rashford will be unavailable for Thursday’s Copa del Rey fixture.
Barcelona’s statement:
𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓 The first team player Marcus Rashford has pain in his left knee after taking a blow in the game against Mallorca on Saturday at Spotify Camp Nou. The player will miss Thursday’s Copa del Rey game against Atlético Madrid.

The club clarified that the injury is not serious, and Barcelona’s medical team remain optimistic that Rashford will return in time for the La Liga clash against Girona on February 16. However, his absence adds to Barcelona’s concerns, with Raphinha and Pedri also sidelined through injury.
Off the pitch, Barcelona have already made their intentions clear to Rashford and his representatives, expressing a desire to retain the forward beyond his current loan spell. The Catalan club are aware that any permanent deal would require a €30m payment, with Manchester United unwilling to lower their asking price.

Elsewhere in La Liga, Real Madrid have reached an agreement in principle with UEFA and the European Football Clubs Association (EFC), officially ending all legal disputes related to the failed European Super League project.
