Sir Alex Ferguson retired at the end of the 2012–13 Premier League season, officially announcing his decision on May 8, 2013, and bowing out on May 19, 2013 after nearly 27 years in charge. He fittingly ended his legendary reign by winning the Premier League title in his final season.

Since then, United have cycled through several managers, each tasked with restoring the club’s dominance — with mixed and often disappointing results.

Despite hope that Amorim could bring a fresh tactical identity, results on the pitch failed to justify patience from the club hierarchy. His dismissal further underlines the ongoing instability at Old Trafford more than a decade after Ferguson’s departure.

As Manchester United once again search for a new manager, questions continue to grow over whether the club can finally find a long-term solution capable of ending the post-Ferguson cycle of inconsistency.
