Christmas is a season of love and sharing where families exchange food with neighbours and enjoy the moment but Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has warned his players against adding weight because of eating too much at Christmas, Softfootball understands.
The Cityzens are currently second on the premier league table with 37 points, two points adrift league leaders Arsenal after 17 matches so far this season. Manchester City hammered West Ham 3-0 in their last match at the Etihad.

Speaking in an interview shared by football expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle. Guardiola said:
The players asked me to take a day off. I said, ‘No because you didn’t play good enough. So, Sunday recovery, train the guys that didn’t play, and after three days off they have two days to prepare for Nottingham Forest. Every player makes a weight. They come back on the 25th and I will be there controlling how many kilos come up, (to see if) they come fatty. They can eat but I want to control them. I have to make a selection for (December) 27 against Nottingham Forest. Imagine one player and now he’s perfect but he will arrive with three kilos more. He will (stay) in Manchester. He will not travel to Nottingham Forest.
Guardiola who recently left his future in the club’s hands is hoping to reclaim the premier league title this season after losing the league last season to Liverpool. They started the season a bit shaky but are currently flying and are tipped as favourites to win the title.
