Cole Palmer is a major injury doubt for Chelsea ahead of Sunday’s Premier League showdown with Arsenal.
Softfootball understands that Palmer sustained a knock following a challenge from Lisandro Martínez during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend.
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Conference League clash against Armenian side FC Noah, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that Palmer was unable to train due to the injury.

The Italian, however, remains hopeful the midfielder will recover in time for Sunday’s London derby, adding that the club will continue to assess his condition.
Maresca also confirmed that Jadon Sancho will miss Thursday’s European fixture due to illness and a minor knock sustained in training. He expressed optimism that the winger could return against Arsenal, although a comeback after the international break remains a possibility if he is not fully fit.
Chelsea will be aiming to strengthen their position in the Premier League when they host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Arsenal will look to bounce back from their recent poor run when they face Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League before turning their attention to Sunday’s crucial league encounter. The Gunners head into the European tie following a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
