Despite fresh movement in Manchester City’s attacking department, Omar Marmoush has no intention of leaving the Etihad Stadium this January. The Egyptian forward remains calm about his situation following the arrival of Antoine Semenyo, who recently completed his move from Bournemouth, as reported by SoftFootball.

Marmoush is currently away with Egypt at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, and sources close to the player insist his focus is fully on international duty for now. Even with limited Premier League starts this season, the 26-year-old believes there is still room to grow at City.
Pep Guardiola is also understood to be comfortable keeping Marmoush in the squad, valuing him as reliable cover across the front line during a long and demanding campaign.
While some Premier League sides had shown interest earlier in the window, the noise around Marmoush has gone quiet, as confirmed in a post shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account.
Fabrizio Romano posted:
Omar Marmoush doesn’t plan to leave Man City this month even after Antoine Semenyo’s arrival.
Oscar Bobb could leave as revealed in December, all quiet around Marmoush now.

City do not see the benefit in sanctioning a mid-season exit, especially with the squad already managing injuries and rotation issues. Internally, the message is simple enough. Marmoush stays, competes, and reassesses later.
In contrast, attention has shifted toward Oscar Bobb, whose future looks far less certain. Reports from December and early January suggest the Norwegian winger could be the one to move, either on loan or permanently. SoftFootball recently highlighted Borussia Dortmund’s interest, alongside other clubs tracking his availability.
Bobb’s progress has stalled since returning from a serious leg injury, and regular minutes have been hard to come by. Sevilla, Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Dortmund are all believed to be monitoring the situation, while Bournemouth have even discussed him as a possible replacement for Semenyo.

Unlike Marmoush, Bobb is open to a move if it means playing more consistently. City are also more flexible here, viewing a temporary exit as beneficial for both player and club.
As of now, the picture is fairly clear. Marmoush remains part of Guardiola’s plans, at least until the summer. Bobb, however, could be packing his bags soon, with talks quietly progressing behind the scenes.
