Chris Wood has hailed Nottingham Forest’s fantastic 3-1 victory over Brentford in their premier league opener on Sunday, Softfootball reports.
The New Zealand international was the hero of the match as he scored a brace before new signing from Serie A side, Bologna Dan Ndoye added one in a fantastic display in front of home fans.

In an interview with Nottingham Forest’s official club media, the striker who enjoyed a successful 2024/25 season expressed his delight at how the season has started and hailed the impact so far of his teammates.
He said:
“It’s a great start and the team did fantastically well. In the first half we did exactly what we wanted to do to a tee and came in three goals to the good.
“In the second half we did extremely well, we looked to control the game a bit more and nullify any options they had.
“We’re trying to evolve as a team and continue to get better over the past couple of seasons. The crowd didn’t get nervy which is really helpful to us on the pitch and it’s fantastic that we’re all going in the same direction. We know we have a good enough side to see out those situations.
“It’s nice to get off the mark like that so early in the game, I think it settles everything down personally and as a team. We kicked on massively and Dan (Ndoye) getting his first goal after an unbelievable pass from Morgan (Gibbs-White), he’s already showing glimpses of why we wanted him during pre-season and it all came to the front today. He’s got a great eye for goal which he has shown in training and now he’s done it in a game.
“Elliot (Anderson) is like Morgan in that they see things that aren’t always there. As soon as the ball dropped to him I wanted to get in behind, he split the defence unbelievably for me to put away my second.
“The team performance was unbelievable today and rightly so everybody in the squad deserves the plaudits for it. We have to continue it and keep it going.”
Nottingham Forest next Premier League match will be against Community Shield winners, Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park next weekend.
