Sandro Tonali was never gonna leave Newcastle in January window, never been a possibility. Could be one to watch in the summer with several clubs already keen, but it will depend on Newcastle + not a topic now.

Tonali, who recently spoke about his future in the clubs, remains a cornerstone of Eddie Howe’s squad. The Italian international is central to Newcastle’s plans as they pursue European football and fight for Premier League success.

Under contract until 2029, with a unilateral extension option to 2030, Tonali’s position at St James’ Park has only strengthened. He signed a secret one-year extension in October 2025, during his 10-month suspension for breaching Italian betting rules.

Financially, Newcastle would demand well over £80 million to consider any sale, far above the £55 million fee paid to AC Milan in 2023. Wage demands and previous gambling issues further limit realistic suitors to Europe’s elite clubs.

While names like Juventus, Manchester City, and AC Milan have occasionally surfaced, Newcastle remain steadfast, Tonali is not for sale.

With chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan and Eddie Howe aligned on the club’s vision, Newcastle are focused on retention and building for the future, not dismantling their core squad. After losing Alexander Isak to Liverpool in 2025, they are determined to avoid another high-profile departure.

Tonali’s heroics in the 2025 Carabao Cup final, playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Liverpool, only cemented his status as a fan favourite. With European football still to come and the Premier League season in full swing, it’s clear Newcastle are not looking to let him go anytime soon.
