Newcastle United will conclude their pre-season preparations on Sunday afternoon when they welcome Strasbourg to St James’ Park.
Under new manager Matthias Jaissle, Newcastle have already recorded friendly victories over Saint-Etienne and Brest at home and will be hoping to end the summer with another success.
Strasbourg, meanwhile, have endured a miserable pre-season. Hugo Oliveira’s side have lost all six of their preparation matches, scoring just five goals while conceding 22. Their struggles have also been compounded by significant squad changes, including departures to sister club Chelsea.

Newcastle are expected to remain without Fabian Schar and Lewis Miley, who are recovering from groin and calf injuries. Valentino Livramento is also likely to miss out with a calf problem.
Strasbourg remain without Joaquin Panichelli, who is recovering from an ACL injury. Julio Enciso and Abdoul Ouattara are also doubts amid reported interest from Ipswich Town.
