Napoli have submitted their first offer for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho as they step up efforts to strengthen their attack during the January transfer window.
The Serie A club has identified the Argentina international as its preferred replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is widely expected to complete a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Italian side remains eager to complete a deal despite David Neres impressing in recent matches. Softfootball understands Napoli’s opening proposal is worth €45 million, consisting of €40 million upfront and an additional €5 million in performance-related bonuses.
Manchester United, however, are believed to value Garnacho at around €60 million, leaving a significant gap between both clubs. Reports suggest negotiations are expected to continue, with Napoli hopeful a compromise can eventually be reached if the Premier League side lowers its asking price.
Napoli are also considering alternative targets should talks fail to progress, but Garnacho remains the club’s top priority for now. The coming days are expected to determine whether both clubs can reach an agreement before the transfer window closes.
