Napoli are reportedly unhappy with Victor Osimhen after the Nigerian striker decided against joining Manchester United during the January transfer window.

Softfootball understands the Serie A club had hoped to sell the Super Eagles forward for around €81 million this month to strengthen their squad. However, Osimhen is said to prefer remaining on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray until the end of the season.

According to Italian publication La Repubblica, the 26-year-old informed Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna of his intention to complete the campaign in Turkey despite interest from Manchester United.

The report added that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis was left frustrated by the decision, viewing it as another setback in the club’s efforts to permanently resolve the striker’s future.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan after a proposed summer exit from Napoli failed to materialise. His temporary deal reportedly contains a break clause, but the striker appears determined to honour his commitment to the Turkish side before considering his next move.
