Musa Provides Assist As Kano Pillars Share Spoils With Kwara United

Ahmed Musa registered an assist as Kano Pillars were held to a 1-1 draw by Kwara United in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Sunday.

Softfootball gathered that the experienced forward continued his impressive return to the NPFL, contributing another goal involvement to help Kano Pillars salvage a point on home soil.

Kwara United broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half through Adeshina Gata, stunning the home supporters.

Kano Pillars responded positively, with Musa setting up Mohammed Zulkifilu for the equaliser three minutes before the hour mark.

The assist means the former Super Eagles captain has now recorded three goals and two assists in just four league appearances for Sai Masu Gida this season.

Elsewhere, Remo Stars climbed back to the top of the NPFL table after edging Bendel Insurance 1-0 in Ikenne. Ghanaian striker Dela Akorli scored the only goal of the encounter just before half-time.

Former champions Enyimba suffered a 1-0 defeat away to El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri, with Usman Abass netting the decisive goal late in the first half.

Sunshine Stars secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Nasarawa United in Ijebu Ode courtesy of Olufemi Opeoluwa’s winning strike.

At the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa, Bayelsa United defeated Heartland 1-0 thanks to Rabiu Abdullahi’s second-half effort.

Abia Warriors also recorded an impressive 3-1 home victory over Plateau United to continue their positive run in the league.
