Former Nigeria international Benedict Akwuegbu has called for Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho to be recalled to the Super Eagles.

Akwuegbu believes the experienced duo still have something to offer Nigeria despite their changing circumstances at club level.

Musa has enjoyed a lengthy international career and remains one of the most experienced players in Nigerian football. He has captained the Super Eagles and represented the country at several major tournaments.

Iheanacho, meanwhile, has also played an important role for Nigeria over the years and has scored several memorable goals for the national team.

Akwuegbu believes their experience could be useful to a squad that contains a growing number of younger players.

The Super Eagles are currently looking to build a team capable of competing at the highest level while also securing qualification for major tournaments.

The debate over whether experienced players should be recalled has continued among Nigerian football supporters.

While both Musa and Iheanacho would still need to prove that they can perform at the required level, their previous contributions to the national team remain significant.

The final decision will rest with the Super Eagles coaching staff.

For Akwuegbu, however, the two players deserve another opportunity to demonstrate what they can contribute to the team.
