The latest Messi vs Ronaldo debate has exploded again, and this time it was sparked by a claim that UEFA “confirmed” Lionel Messi only has three Champions League titles. That was the exact issue D Real Kombo reacted to in his video he postd on his youtube channel, and he did not hold back at all.
He began by calling out what he sees as deliberate misrepresentation from rival fans, saying:
Today I’ve just been seeing everywhere that Messi has only three Champions League titles, that UEFA has confirmed that Messi has only three Champions League titles.”
But according to him, the problem was not just the claim itself it was how people selectively presented it. He argued that many were sharing only the part where UEFA listed Messi’s wins in 2009, 2011, and 2015, while ignoring the added explanation that he was also involved in Barcelona’s 2006 title-winning campaign, even though he was not in the final squad.
That is what really triggered him. In one of the strongest parts of the rant, he said:
So do you know what they did? They cleaned the second part of the conversation… where they said he was also a regular for the Spanish club when they won the trophy in 2006 but was not part of the squad for the final.
Then he mocked the logic being used online, saying:
So if you are not part of the squad for the final you don’t have Champions League? So if you not play in the final, Champions League not be your own again?
From there, the video turned into a full defence of Messi’s football legacy. D Real Kombo accused some Ronaldo fans of being desperate to use any small technicality to boost Cristiano’s standing in the endless GOAT conversation. He said bluntly:
What I’ve seen from Ronaldo fans is desperation… you guys are desperate to make Ronaldo look bigger than he is.
And then he doubled down with the line that defined the whole video:
There is nothing you will do that will make Ronaldo look bigger than Messi. Nothing.
He did not stop there. He brought up the usual Messi talking points eight Ballon d’Ors, Golden Boots, World Cup glory, World Cup Golden Balls, and playmaking records and used them to argue that Messi’s greatness is simply on another level. At one point he said:
“Messi is an enigma of football. Messi is football. Like when you want to define football, just call Messi.”
Watch videdo below;
It was exaggerated, emotional, and clearly meant to hit hard but that is exactly why so many fans are reacting to it.
As Softfootball reported, the timing of this latest argument is also interesting because Messi’s post-Europe legacy is still growing fast. His impact in the United States continues to strengthen the image many fans already have of him as more than just a great goalscorer.
The numbers alone tell a huge story. Messi’s ongoing influence at Inter Miami has now reached an astonishing 122 goal contributions in just 90 matches, underlining how much he has transformed the club since arriving in 2023.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the rivalry, Cristiano Ronaldo also continues to expand his legacy in a very different way both on and off the pitch.

Reuters recently reported that Ronaldo has now reached 965 career goals, while reports also indicate he has taken a stake in UD Almería, showing how his football influence is stretching beyond just playing.
Still, D Real Kombo’s point was not really about statistics alone. It was about what he sees as repeated attempts to rewrite or trim Messi’s story in order to make the comparison feel closer than it actually is.
And he ended the rant exactly how you would expect with full confidence and zero softness. His closing message was basically this:
you can argue, you can crop screenshots, you can repost selective facts, but in his eyes, Messi remains untouchable.
