France were held to a 1–1 draw by Italy at the Stade de France after Alessandro Bastoni cancelled out Michael Olise’s stunning opener in a closely fought Nations League encounter.

Olise gave France the lead in the 55th minute, beating Gianluigi Donnarumma from outside the box with a superb left foot finish after Rayan Cherki provided the assist. Italy responded in the 68th minute when Bastoni capitalised on a defensive mistake from Lucas Da Cunha before firing into the net from distance.

The result comes after Mbappé Fires France Past Türkiye in Tight Nations League Clash, with France dominating possession but unable to find a second goal despite creating several opportunities.

Donnarumma produced a series of important saves after the break, denying Ousmane Dembélé, Olise and Eduardo Camavinga as France pushed for victory. France’s task became harder in the 85th minute when Dayot Upamecano was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.

Italy threatened late on, but Mike Maignan kept out a Moise Kean header, while Bastoni was booked in stoppage time. France finished with 65% possession, although both teams had chances to win the match.
