Speaking after Chelsea’s recent training session, Maresca said in a post shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account:

Alejandro Garnacho is doing well, he’s improving. Ale has not stopped because I don’t allow him to stop and to drop. He’s doing very well on and off the ball.

Maresca’s admiration has grown as Garnacho continues to adapt to the tactical demands at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea boss confirmed that the winger is getting better and better, noting his improvement defensively and offensively. Maresca said, pointing to the player’s development in pressing and tracking back:

If you are able just to attack and you are not able to defend, you don’t play many games.

Garnacho’s impact was felt strongly in Chelsea’s 2-2 Champions League draw at Qarabag, where he scored a crucial equaliser, as reported by SoftFootball. Maresca admitted the winger has done well in the second half and praised his effort and awareness. His cameos against Brentford and Bayern Munich have also impressed the coaching staff, who believe he’s maturing into a well-rounded forward.

Despite his rising form, competition remains fierce in Chelsea’s attacking line, with Pedro Neto, Estevao Willian, and Jamie Gittens all in contention. Maresca has been rotating his squad to avoid burnout, explaining that managing young players like Estevao carefully is vital. He said, stressing patience and adaptation to English football:

We are doing the best for Estevao.
